Perturabo is the Primarch of the Iron Warriors, one of the original twenty Space Marine Legions. Bitter and feeling marginalized by the Imperium, he sided with Horus during the Horus Heresy and has since ascended to Daemonhood. He, like his Iron Warriors, had a natural affinity towards technology and cold logic but lacked the strength of faith.

Because the lore about him becoming a Daemon Prince was written *first*, way back in the formative stages of Warhammer 40,000's universe, where the Primarchs were intended to be dead or distant figures - relics of a lost and glorious past, known only as ancient beings of myth and legend.

So why did Perturabo turned into a Daemon Prince? He even made a ritual to sacrifice Loyalist gene-seed to do so. I always considered it a cop out by the lore to not deal with the implications of him getting to live for ten thousand years without being involved with the Warp somehow. What's your opinion on Perturabo being a Daemon prince? The only canon we have says he's a Daemon prince but him being a DP seems completely out of character not just for him but for the Iron warriors who surgically remove any chaos mutations they have.
